  • Thanks to Clark Howard yesterday for the Christmas Kids Program. The DA Victim Witness Staff bought for 7 kids to have a good Christmas.

Welcome

For the past several years, it has been my honor to be a part of one of the greatest movements that has ever occurred in the criminal justice and judicial system. That, of course, is the movement to ensure that each person who falls victim to crime receives those benefits and rights that they, by law, are entitled to. As the former/retired Director of the Victim Witness Program for the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, I have seen first hand how crime can completely destroy one’s life, as well as, the entire families of those who have been victimized. While great strides have been made over the last few years to ensure that crime victims rights are being met, there is still much work to be done. The goal of this site is to simply be an avenue for victims and advocates of victims to gain the maximum amount of information about what to expect concerning those rights and how to ensure that they are received.

Several links are available through this site which will provide even more information on a local, state, and federal level through other victim oriented organizations. Through our Behind The Badge cable access show, we have tried to be a bully pulpit for crime victims here in our county. Hopefully, these shows have been successful in our attempt to educate and acclimate our citizens about issues that are of a criminal justice and judicial nature. A list of previous shows is available on this site for anyone who would like to see former episodes. Thanks to all of you for the tremendous feedback that we have received from this program. If you have comments or ideas for the show, you can reach us at stanhall@voice4victims.com

We are very proud of the network that we have established that includes victim service providers, law enforcement agencies, politicians, community action groups, and so many people who are former crime victims themselves. It is only through a collaboration of efforts from people like this that we are able to continue the fight for total victims rights. I appreciate the tireless dedication that these people have made to this cause.

Please take a minute to visit our site and we welcome any ideas that you may have to make this a more friendly or useful means of getting the message out to those who need it so much. Please encourage others to visit our site, as well as, use it as a link for existing sites of similar concerns. We hope that you will sign up for the newsletter that will be sent out on a weekly basis about current events or issues that need to be talked about. Communication is our greatest tool! Thank you for taking the time to check us out and we look forward to hearing from you.
