Re: Gubernatorial Appointment to State of Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council
The Governor's Office has announced the appointment of Stan L. Hall, Director of the Victim Witness Program for the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office, by Governor Roy Barnes as a Board Member for the State of Georgia's Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council oversees the distribution of federal grant monies to law enforcement agencies and victim services programs throughout the State of Georgia. These monies are used to fund such projects as state- wide drug task forces and for monetary compensation to crime victims. Hall was originally nominated by Senior Superior Court Judge James Oxendine of the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit.
Other notable Board Members of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council include G.B.I. Director Buddy Nix, State Director of Public Safety Bob Hightower, and Executive Director of the State Prosecuting Attorney's Council, Richard Malone. Hall was sworn in by the Governor at the State Capitol on March 14th.
Hall is a 30 year law enforcement veteran, all in Gwinnett County. He has a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the 188th Session of the F.B.I. National Academy. He was awarded a P.O.S.T. Management Certificate in 1988 from the State Training Council and has been with Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office since 1987. He is also the host of the government cable access show "Behind the Badge" and writes a weekly column under the same name. |
